Such a wonderful place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed having a kitchenette shared with the other rooms that was fully stocked with snacks and coffee. Sarah (who runs the place) and Poppy (in the restaurant) are both amazing! They made sure we had everything we needed and gave great tips for things to see in the area. I would definitely come back again.

The Westerfield Railway has become a real favourite of ours, both for business meetings and social occasions with the team. The food is consistently excellent and we’ve genuinely never been disappointed by a meal there.

The staff are always welcoming, friendly and attentive, creating a fantastic atmosphere every time we visit. Nothing ever seems too much trouble and they always go the extra mile to make sure everyone is looked after.

It’s great to have such a reliable local venue that delivers excellent food, great service and a warm atmosphere time and time again. Highly recommended!

I was expecting a standard country pub but surprised how good the decor and quality was. High standards throughout from the car park, outside areas, including mini golf, bar and toilets. Great food too

My thoughts on the Railway Welcome, Kate was the first person I met and checked me in. The process was simple and warm. The bar was spotless with good attention to hygiene; Kate took time to make sure my check in was smooth and explained times for the breakfast sitting as I would miss this due to an early course. If I miss breakfast, they lay on a full continental, not my fist choice but a welcomed gesture and appreciated. I was surprised with the selection offered, fresh fruit, branded cereal, fresh milk, water, microwave, tea, coffee fantastic presentation.
The room: I opted for the cheapest but was surprised at the size condiments in shower room and size. Albeit near a railway line the sleep was 100%. The shower room had a vast complimentary (bits as a man) I didn’t use them) but nice to see.
The Bar and food: Again, so happy with the service of all staff, Kate was great as where the team (including the trainee) From arrival I was able to open a tab without presenting a debit card wonderful trust feeling. I ordered “fish & chips” this was fresh delivered fast on a warm plate attention was 100% as was the food, and a massive serving. The menu was extensive.
I stay in many low-cost establishments due to work; the Railway Taven is the best by far on all fronts. 100% recommended. Keep up the good work I will be coming back, great venue.
